AM & PM Provision
Fiesta Sports Coaching Ltd offers a variety of services to suit your childcare needs, and one of the services we offer is morning and afternoon wraparound provision. But this may leave you wondering, what exactly happens at these provisions, what precisely are you paying for when you book your child into the wraparound care?
What happens at our morning wraparound provision?
When your child arrives with us in the morning they’re immediately registered and taken into a room that’s dedicated to wraparound provision. There are two official drop-off times for parents 7:30am and 8:00am, however drop-off times can be flexible- simply call the provision and one of our happy team members will come down to the gate and collect your child from you. While one member of staff collects children from the gate, another stays with the children at the provision to ensure the fun continues safely. In the mornings children can spend their time doing something that interests them, whether that be something creative with pens and paper, reading a book, playing with the assortment of toys and games and so on.
As part of the service we offer, all children are able to have some complimentary toast while they’re in our care- lots of children do make the most of this, it’s often been said by the children that there’s no better way to start the morning than with hot, buttery toast! Our lovely staff are all on hand to make sure the children are enjoying their toast, and to lend a listening ear- our staff love to join in with the fun being had by the children, especially if there’s a jigsaw puzzle in need of solving!
Every morning the younger children at the provision are treated to listening to a story/part of a story being read by one of the team members on duty, while the Junior pupils are taken to school. Once it’s time to tidy up, the children are encouraged to get ready, collect their belongings and are then taken to school. Every child is taken to their classroom, and the register updated to reflect the fact that they’ve been safely delivered to the right place.
What happens at our afternoon wraparound provision?
While the morning provision is rather more flexible and informal in nature (the children are still waking up after all- they don’t want to be bombarded by activities and ideas!) the afternoon provision is much more structured, and we focus on delivering fun, educational activities that will develop and nurture your child’s sense of learning.
Immediately upon arrival into the provision setting, your child can enjoy a snack (which we can provide if you opt for that service), or they can enjoy one from their own bag; at this point in the afternoon the snacks are generally something like fruit, vegetables, or even a cereal bar. After this, once the Juniors have arrived, the fun really begins!
If there’s a club running (we often run sport clubs such as: football, dodgeball, NERF etc.), and your child is in the right Key Stage for the club, they may attend if they wish to. Those children who cannot attend, or who do not wish to, spend time with a playworker engaging in fun activities that have been planned out especially for them! These activities vary day to day, week to week, usually they engage with the world around them and include plenty of opportunity to be creative! For example, when it was Valentine’s Day children could make Valentine’s cards, sometimes they explore science and gravity by constructing parachutes using different materials, there are construction challenges, brain teasers, riddles and more! We’ve even recently introduced a Games Night to our afternoon provision!
Once the sports club has ended it’s time for second snack if the service is selected for your child. This will include something more hearty to eat- cheese toasties, a ham sandwich, crackers, wraps; your child will be able to pick for themselves what they want.
Children can be collected at any point if parents call the provision, except from between 4:15pm-4:30pm which is a protected snack time, or children can be booked in to stay at the provision until it closes at 6pm. But until the children are collected they’re kept entertained and engaged in a variety of different activities until it’s time for them to go.
When it is time for you to collect your child, they will be brought down to the gate to you and signed out. We like to make sure the children we care for leave with a smile on their face. The staff at Fiesta Sports love what they do, and we hope that shines through in the enthusiasm of our staff and the happiness of the children we care for
